Custom & Public Leagues |
Create a Custom League and personally invite only those managers you want to join. As the league founder, or commissioner, you can configure virtually all aspects of your league, from the amount each team buys-in for, the scoring system, to the style of draft. |
To join someone else's Custom League, you must get the League ID# and Password from the commissioner. |
If you don't have enough managers to build an entire league yourself, join one of our Public Leagues and compete against fantasy fans from around the world. All Public Leagues use the same default settings. You will randomly be placed in a league with other managers who have chosen the same draft type, buy-in and competition level. |
All managers can join any combination of four leagues (Public or Custom, Head-to-Head or Rotisserie). |
back to top |
Head-to-Head and Rotisserie Leagues |
Join a Head-to-Head League and square off weekly against other managers. Each manager sets his/her lineup based on league requirements and is matched up each week against another manager according to the league's schedule. Whoever accumulates the most fantasy points -- based on your league settings -- wins the game. Weekly results are then tallied into an overall record. |
Top teams have an elimination tournament to determine a winner. |
Join a Rotisserie League and simply set your goal on being the highest scorer. Set a weekly lineup based on league requirements and hope your players collect more fantasy points than anyone else's. Points are tallied throughout the football season, and the team with the highest total at the end of the year wins the league championship. |

Types of Drafts |
There are three different draft options available to managers in Fantasy Lineup’s Fantasy Football: |
1. Participate in a live online draft, where each manager selects a squad in real time. Every team selects one player per round until their roster is full. The draft order reverses each round, so the team that starts the first round will end the second, and the team that ends the first round will start the second. See the Live Draft Details section for more information. |
2. Join an autopick draft and our computers will select a team for you. You'll get the best possible players based on either our default rankings or a set of personalized rankings you submit in advance. See the Autopick Draft Details section for more information. |
3. Custom Leagues can also conduct their own offline draft wherever and whenever they want. When the draft is done, the league commissioner must simply submit the results via email to support@fantasylineup.com. Just remember that no teams may join a league once any portion of the draft results have been entered and saved. |

Live Draft Details |
Select a date and time when you know that you and other league members (if it is a Custom League) have a couple of free hours to spend at the draft. |
If you won't be present for the entire draft, go to your team page and pre-rank players. Your pre-ranked players will be used if you can't make a selection at any time during the live draft. If you choose not to pre-rank, our default ratings will be used when you can't make a selection. See the Autopick Draft Details section for more information. |
When it's time for your draft, you will be notified by email. Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled time as the draft will start promptly and may go rapidly if only a few managers are logged in. |
You must have the latest Flash plug-in installed on your computer to take part in the live draft. |

Autopick Draft Details |
When you are unable to draft for yourself, our computer system will make intelligent choices for you. This will happen if you signed up for an Autopick League or are not present for all or part of your Live Draft. |
The autopick system first selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can fill one of the open starting positions on your roster. |
After all of your starting positions are filled, the system determines a list of bench positions based on the number of starters at a position vs. the overall roster size. The system then selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can play one of the bench positions. |
Given this system, it is important to remember that all starting positions are filled before any bench players are chosen. Additionally, keep in mind that the system will determine a maximum number of players to draft per position (starters plus bench) so that no roster ends up with an inordinate number of players at any single position (e.g., five quarterbacks in a league that has a single starting quarterback). |
Also, please note that if you join a Public Autopick League, you may end up being placed in a live draft league in need of players. If this does happen, your team will still be autopicked by our computers. |

Scoring |
Both Head-to-Head and Rotisserie Leagues use the same basic scoring system. Fantasy points are awarded based on how well your players perform in each of several statistical categories. All real-life statistics have associated point values, and each player's points are summed to produce your weekly total. |
So if in your league, a touchdown is worth six points, ten rush yards is worth one point, twenty receiving yards is one point, and your player had two touchdowns (2*6=12) , eighty yards rushing (80/10=8), and forty yards receiving (40/20=2) Your players fantasy points for the game totals 12+8+2= 22 points.. |
All active players earn fantasy points for all of your league's categories (you do not receive points for players on your bench). |

Transaction Deadlines |
You can only add players to your active roster for the current week if the transaction is completed no later than five minutes before the start of the player's game. In other words, none of the active players on your team (players in a starting roster spot) involved in a move can have played or be within five minutes of their game's start time, or the transaction is not allowed. So, for example, transactions for all active players who play at 10:00 a.m. PT must be completed by 9:55 a.m. PT. |
When dropping a player in you starting lineup, you must replace him with a player who plays the same position. For example, your starting Quarterback must be replaced with another QB - a running back with another RB, etc. If you wish to drop 1 starter and replace him with another player in a different position, first move the starter to the bench - then you can drop him and replace with any position player of your choice. |
You are allowed to make transactions involving your bench players at any time during a week—even if a player's game has begun. However, you are not permitted to activate any player who is already within the five-minute limit. All such players must remain on your bench until the following week. |
Additionally, all intra-roster moves (switching players between active and bench spots) can be made until five minutes before the start of each player's game. |
Also, bear in mind that your league might include a trading deadline. Click the "League Settings" link from your league home page to view the configuration of your league. Trade deadlines do not impact the ability to add players via waivers or free agency. |

Trading Players |
A trade consists of one manager exchanging a player or players with another manager in the same league. To propose a trade, go to your team page and select "Propose Trade," which allows you to select the team and player you wish to trade. An email will be sent to the other manager offering your proposed trade. That manager can then go to his/her team page to view the proposal, accept it, decline it, or make a counter offer. There must be consent from both managers for a trade to be completed. |
If your trade is rejected, you will receive an email notifying you of that result. If a counter offer is made, you will receive an email detailing the new proposal. |
If the offer is accepted, the entire league will be notified and managers/commissioners can review the deal. In a Public League, an objection of four or more managers within two days will veto the trade. In a Custom League, the commissioner has veto power for the length of time chosen during configuration. The commissioner may also opt to allow managers to vote on pending trades. Under these conditions, a trade will be vetoed if protested by 1/3 of managers in the league. |
During the review period, trades are marked as pending. Once the trade has been accepted and the waiting period has finished, the trade will be processed (this can take up to 36 hours) and its results reflected on each team's roster and shown in the transaction log. |
Players can only be involved in one pending transaction at a time. So, even if a player has been offered to a number of teams, once any one of the trades has been accepted, no other teams can accept a deal containing the same player. |

Free Agents |
All un-owned players who have cleared waivers are free agents and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can add or drop players by simply clicking the "Add Player" or "Drop Player" links located near the top of your Team Page. If you add a player to your bench, it is up to you to move them to a starting position. |
If you drop a player from your roster, he is immediately placed on waivers. You are not allowed to reclaim the player until after the waiver period expires. |
Before the start of the season, all un-drafted players will be placed on waivers, with those left unclaimed then being treated as free agents. You can find out the length of the waiver period for your league by clicking on the League Settings link on your league home page. |
back to top |
Waivers |
All players dropped from a team's roster are immediately placed on waivers. During this waiver period -- two days in Public Leagues and anywhere from zero to seven days in Custom Leagues -- anyone in the league can place a claim on the player. |
So, if a player in a Public League is dropped on a Wednesday afternoon, all managers can claim him until Friday at 11:59 pm PT. The player will then be assigned to his new team roughly 4-8 hours after the claim deadline. |
To find the length of the waiver period in your league, check the League Settings page, which can be found via a link on your League Overview page. |
If more than one manager claims the same player, the team that is highest on the Waiver Priority List is given the rights to the player. The priority list is initially set based on the reverse of the draft order. However, each time you add a waived player to your roster, you are pushed to the back of the list, so the team with the lowest waiver priority will always be the team that completed the last successful waiver claim. This "rolling" list stays in effect for the entire season. Your current position on the waiver priority list will be displayed along with your league standings. |
If nobody claims a player during the waiver period, he becomes a free agent. In a Custom League with no waiver period, all dropped players automatically become free agents. |

Roster Notes |
1. Players are only eligible to play at those position(s) designated by Fantasy Lineup. |
2. If you add a player, but later realize you did not want him on your team, you may immediately drop him. |
3. All active players earn fantasy points for all of your league's categories (you do not receive points for players on your bench). All possible point categories are displayed next to every player on your team. If the player has no stats in a specific category, it will be represented by a zero (0). |

Tiebreak System |
If, at the end of the season, two or more players finish with the same overall record (head-to-head competition), the following system will be used to break the tie: |
1. Overall winning percentage. |
2. Fantasy points scored. |
3. Fantasy points scored in Week 17. |
4. Fantasy points scored in Week 16. |
5. Fantasy points scored in Week 15. |
6. Fantasy points scored in Week 14. |
7. Fantasy points scored in Week 13. |
8. Fantasy points scored in Week 12. |
9. Fantasy points scored in Week 11. |

17. Fantasy points scored in Week 3. |
18. Fantasy points scored in Week 2. |
19. Fantasy points scored in Week 1. |
20. Random "coin flip". |
In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock will be broken using the following system: |

2. Most fantasy points by starting quarterback(s). |
3. Most fantasy points by starting defensive team(s). |
4. Most fantasy points by starting wide receiver(s). |
5. Most fantasy points by starting running back(s). |
6. Most fantasy points by starting tight end(s). |
7. Most fantasy points by starting kicker(s). |
8. Random "coin flip". |
NOTES: |
1. When breaking a tie in a playoff game, the only statistics used will be from that specific game. |
2. For any end-of-season ties, the final week of your league's regular season will be the first week used to break the deadlock. |
3. For any tie where a weekly point total comes in to play, only those weeks where all teams involved in the tie received fantasy points will be considered. |

Fair Play & Sportsmanship |
Even though fantasy games are meant to be a competitive experience for all involved, it is important to us that our users not lose sight of the rules of fair play and good sportsmanship. To this end, each Public League fantasy team owner (Custom Leagues are controlled solely by the League Commissioner) agrees that, by joining the game, they will abide by the following regulations: |
1. All league-related transactions will be executed with the intent of improving the owner's team and/or its standing within the league. |
2. No owner may drop or "dump" players from their team for any reason other than improving their own team and/or its standing within the league. |
3. No owner will engage in any action that may be deemed to be collusive (two or more owners agreeing to make moves that benefit one team, but not the other). |
4. No owner will make any roster moves (including waiver claims, trade proposals, etc.) whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other owners. |
5. No owner will take any action whose purpose is to, in any way, interfere with fair play in a league. |
While Fantasy Lineup will not remove teams from leagues after they have drafted, any failure to follow all of the items listed above may result in the limitation or removal of playing privileges for the offending owner. These restrictions may include: |
1. The suspension of specific game privileges (trading, message board posting, etc.) for the remainder of the season. |
2. The suspension of ALL playing privileges for the remainder of the season. |
3. The complete deactivation and removal of the corresponding Fantasy Lineup account. |
4. Any other action that Fantasy Lineup at its sole discretion, feels is necessary to restore fair play to the league. |
It is the responsibility of team owners to monitor activity within their leagues. If, as an owner, you notice any suspicious or collusive activity in your league, please notify us at once so that we may investigate and take the appropriate action -– if any is deemed necessary -- against the offending team(s) and/or account(s). |

Questions or Comments |
Please consider the following when reviewing scoring in your league: |
Your league settings page will display all scoring categories selected in your league along with the corresponding point value for each. To view your league settings, please visit your league overview page and click the "League Settings" link |
Please take note of negative scoring categories such as interceptions or fumbles lost. Please also note that players receive credit for stats in all categories regardless of position, so a wide receiver may be credited passing yards (from an option play). |
For questions when contacting us regarding stats, please include the following information in your email: |
1. The name of the team in question. |
2. Your League ID#. |
3. The player(s) and statistic(s) in question. |
4. Any reference point (box score, recap, news story, etc.) that might help in resolving the issue. |
